Leafroge is the middle Grass form in the Leafbun line, used when you want to keep pushing toward Leafblade.
Use Leafroge as the checkpoint after raising Leafbun. It is not the starting form and not the final payoff; it is the middle Grass form that tells you whether the Leafbun -> Leafroge -> Leafblade route should keep a team slot. The practical question is whether Leafroge's current moves still solve the fights in front of you. Open the party and move panels before a boss, dungeon, or route wall. If its attacks and cooldowns fit the matchup, keep raising the line toward Leafblade; if they do not, pause the line and spend the active slot elsewhere. Leafroge matters because it protects earlier investment in Leafbun. You already spent time reaching this stage, so the next decision is not whether the line exists; it is whether the final form, Leafblade, is worth the next push. The live evolution panel decides any level, material, or quest requirement for that final step.
Raise Leafbun into Leafroge. From there, use the live evolution panel to see what Leafroge needs before it can become Leafblade.
Leafroge keeps the Grass role from the Leafbun line and bridges into Leafblade. Use it when the current move panel gives you attacks that answer the next fight; otherwise, treat it as an evolution checkpoint rather than a locked team member.

Leafblade is the final Grass form in the Leafbun -> Leafroge -> Leafblade line, so build toward it only when that end slot fits your team.
Bubboxer is the middle Water form in the Bubble line, used when you want to keep pushing toward Bubblader.
Blazgrowl is the middle Fire form in the Blazpup line, used when you want to keep pushing toward Blazmane.
Keep leveling Leafroge when the move panel still matches your route or boss needs and you want Leafblade as the end target. Pause it when the current kit no longer helps the next fight.
The line reads Leafbun -> Leafroge -> Leafblade. Leafroge sits between Leafbun and Leafblade, so it works best as a decision point before the final form.
Check the evolution panel for level, material, or quest requirements before spending resources. The live panel is the rule for the current build.
Evolve Leafbun to reach Leafroge.
Leafroge evolves into Leafblade when the live evolution requirement is met.
